Bluefin Tuna Loin 1lb
$31.00
Our Massachusetts Bluefin Tuna Loin is a premium center-cut portion prized for its deep red color, clean flavor, and meaty texture. Responsibly harvested by local fishermen and expertly blast frozen at peak freshness, these thick-cut loins are perfect for high-heat cooking methods like searing and grilling. One portion is approximately 16 oz (1 lb). We recommend 6–8 oz per person.
Easy Seafood Recipe – Pat the tuna dry and season simply with kosher salt, cracked black pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Sear over high heat for 45–60 seconds per side, leaving the center rare, or grill over a hot flame for 1–2 minutes per side. Finish with flaky sea salt, fresh herbs, a squeeze of lemon, or your favorite steak seasoning for a restaurant-quality meal.
Health Benefits – Bluefin Tuna is an excellent source of high-quality protein and is naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and selenium, making it a nutritious choice that supports heart, brain, and muscle health.
Thawing & Storage – For the best quality, thaw your Bluefin Tuna Loin overnight in the refrigerator and enjoy it the following day. Like all fresh tuna, Bluefin naturally oxidizes after thawing, causing the surface color to gradually darken from bright red to a deeper brownish-red. This is a completely natural process and does not affect the quality, flavor, or safety of the fish. For the best appearance and eating experience, we recommend cooking the tuna as soon as it has fully thawed rather than storing it in the refrigerator for additional days.
Did You Know? – Our Bluefin Tuna is landed by local Massachusetts fishermen and harvested under one of the world's most carefully managed fisheries. Most of our Bluefin is caught using traditional artisanal harpoon techniques or rod-and-reel, two highly selective fishing methods that target individual fish and minimize bycatch. The Massachusetts Bluefin season typically runs from June through December, making it one of New England's most celebrated seasonal fisheries.
Frozen Shelf Life: 9 months. Refrigerated Shelf Life: 4 days.
