Cod is regularly wild-caught by New England fishermen. Landed from Maine to Virginia, Atlantic Cod is available year-round. Although populations are below target levels, U.S. wild-caught cod is still a smart seafood choice sustainably managed and under a rebuilding plan that allows limited harvest by U.S. fishermen. Fishing rate for cod is reduced to end overfishing.
A true New England classic. Mild flavor profile with large semi-firm flakes, cod is low in saturated fat and sodium and is a good source of protein and selenium. 1 portion is approx. 16 oz (1 lb). We recommend 8 oz per person.
